Having the opportunity to learn about Glendalys Medina's journey as an artist was truly an eye-opener to the abundance of ways that I can express my thoughts and passion through everyday items and mediums. Work that not only evokes curiosity within your audience but also challenges you to work based on questions you have for yourself and society. Reflective work should be made to evoke questions in yourself and your audience, as it is heavily experience-based. For my piece, giving meaning to basic shapes and items before going into working was a different experience. When your materials already have a preconceived meaning, your placement and usage of them can be changed substantially. In my experimental drawing, I am depicting a moment in time that I imagine will happen in my future life. while circles and hexagons represent my friends and other things that make me feel joy, the rectangle that represents myself is only apparent a few times. The colors and materials are all representatives of my character and how I react to my surroundings.
