The idea for the patter arised from a study of a fire hydrant. Further working into thr tracing amidst the conversation of lust and desire with a friend, I began to think about what it means for gay men to be desired. When we think about the validity of the queer being thorughout history, feeling a want or attraction towards somebody has often granted them valodation. I want to emphasize the idea that queer people matter in this world and thus so when we begin to think about gay men there should be able to be a desire towards them. In a world that often made gay synonymous with feelings of disgust that perpetuated the rejection of the queer identity, to be desired is an act of rebellion. For this reasoning the fire hydrant which puts out fires, can exist as an a visual representation for the heat or "hotness" of gay men which stands to be pu out like a burning fire.
